Remarks: Most Neolamprologus leleupi strains are typically bright yellow, but some locations are darker gray or black, such as the Kavala Island location. While their typical coloration is gray, when dominant they turn solid black - a true sight to behold. They get along well with most similarly sized cichlids, like Julidochromis, Altolamprologus, and other Neolamprologus. Sexing can be difficult, and impossible when young, so groups should be purchased if the intention is to breed them.  Scientific Name: Neolamprologus leleupi "Kavala" Common Name: Black Leleupi Max Size: 4" pH: 7.5-8.6 Hardness: Hard Temperature: 70-82° Aggressiveness: Semi-Aggressive Region of Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa Captive Bred or Wild: Captive Bred Diet: Flake or pellet, frozen and live food Compatibility: Lake Tanganyikan cichlids Tank Mate Options: Julidochromis marlieri Neolamprologus tretocephalus Synodontis multipunctatus *****Please review our Shipping and Handling FAQ prior to placing your order.
