Remarks: Thorichthys aureus "Blue" share a common ancestor with Firemouths, one of the most popular cichlids in the world. You can treat them the same as you would a Firemouth - a 40-gallon tank or larger will suffice for a pair or small group. They can be kept with small or medium Central American cichlids as well as peaceful South American cichlids.
