(Placidochromis johnstoni)
Remarks: Placidochromis johnstoni share a genus with Mdoka White Lips, Star Sapphire, and others, but they are vastly different in behavior and appearance. These fish typically school in large groups in beds of Vallisneria near the shore. To feed, they aim towards the substrate and snap their jaws shut, firing off a wave that stirs up loose invertebrates resting on the bottom and nearby leaves. Because they typically school in groups of 20+ fish, rarely will you see more than one male in full coloration in the wild. In aquaria, they seem to display best when kept alone or in a harem.
