Remarks: This fish is well known for its prominent black spots and stripes, hence the common name Tiger Pike Cichlid. They can be fairly aggressive, especially towards conspecifics, but can cohabitate with other large cichlids. Avoid placing smaller fish with them as they have large mouths and will likely eat anything small enough to fit. A sandy substrate is recommended for this fish as it likes to dig around and arrange the decor to suit itself. Rocks for hiding and robust plants rooted to bogwood are beneficial as well.  Scientific Name: Crenicichla tigrina Common Name: Tiger Pike Cichlid Max Size: 12" pH: 6.0-7.4 Hardness: Moderately Soft Temperature: 75°-78° Aggressiveness: Aggressive Region of Origin: South America Captive Bred or Wild: Wild Diet: Frozen-thawed or live foods, High protein pellet Compatibility: Other large South American cichlids, large plecos Tank Mate Options: *****Please review our Shipping and Handling FAQ prior to placing your order.
