Fossil Clam Shell (Mercenaria permagna) with beautiful honey calcite crystals from Ruck's Pit in Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida Nashua Formation Early Pleistocene (2 myo) Specimen measures approx: 4.5" x 3.5",  with matrix 6.25" x 5.5" x 2" The internal natural pocket area of the clam is replaced with stunning golden yellow calcite crystals that fluoresces and phosphorescence a bright yellow to a light green under short and long wave black (UV) light. Ruck's Pit was a small cement quarry that produced famous crystal encrusted fossils.
