St. Paschal, Patron of Cooks and Chefs, Handmade Pendant/Necklace
With this pendant on a chain, cooks and chefs in restaurants or at home can be accompanied by a saint as they work. I designed, carved, and cast the medal. On the front, St. Paschal stirs a pot, while below him, by the fire, a tiny sous chef (a cat) naps and waits for dinner. The pendant comes on either an 18 inch or 24 inch chain (please specify which you'd prefer). The piece comes in a jewelry pouch and with a card stating the following: "Born into a poor shepherd family, Paschal Baylon (1540-92) became a Franciscan lay brother. He worked as a gardener and cook, feeding the other friars and flocks of visitors who came to the door of the friary. His ability as a baker and cook–his capacity to take simple ingredients and make delicious food–became legendary. In this medal, Paschal is at work in his kitchen, assisted by a sous chef (a tiny cat warming itself). The piece was handmade by Hank and Karen Schlau at In the Company of Saints in Covington, Louisiana."Dimensions of pendant: 1 1/
