Baiyaqilan is a new variety of oolong tea that was developed in Pinghe, Fujian China.  Baiya Qilan Tea is a rare new oolong tea variety that was successfully bred from a single plant of local tea tree species by the Tea Station of the Agricultural Bureau of Pinghe County, Fujian Province and Pengxi Village, Qiling Township, by scientific and technological personnel. It is a shrub type, medium-leaf species, with obvious white hair on the new shoots. The tree is of medium vigor, with a semi-open crown, dense branches and low planting parts. Overwintering buds germinate in late March and can be harvested from late April to early May. In normal years, the buds can grow about four rounds, with an effective growth period of 215-230 days. They have strong bud-raising ability and strong tenderness. The yield is relatively high, with an annual output of 300 to 500kg of dry tea in an adult tea garden. Baiya Qilan tea is carefully harvested and processed with fine craftsmanship. (Baidu Wikipedia)
