Antique 1920s Jonathan Flour Tin Litho Sign
c. 1920s; Midland Flour Milling Co. - Kansas City, MO Antique tin flour advertising Jonathan Flour. Jonathan Flour was one of the many brands produced by the Midland Flour Milling Company, established circa 1870 by Ukranian immigrant Bernhard Warkentin. Warkentin's move to the midwest encouraged thousands of Mennonites from Russia and surrounding areas to settle in central Kansas throughout the mid-1870s. His import of Turkey red winter wheat from Crimea in the early 1900s helped make Kansas a competitive leader in "America's Breadbasket." Midland's Flour's later famous brand, Town Crier Flour, overshadowed Jonathan Flour by the late 1930s. Exhibits moderate signs of wear including some paint drips, rust, dents, and finish loss. Corners show extreme degradation. 17.5" W x 11.5" H Please refer to photos regarding condition. MM - 12542 - 021225 For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
