c. 1910s-1920s; American Compact wooden storage chest with original dark stain and forged iron hardware, constructed with simple box joints and fitted with a hinged lid and clasp closure. The interior features multiple divided compartments, likely used for organizing small apothecary supplies, trade tools, or correspondence materials. Its straightforward, utilitarian build reflects early 20th-century workshop and mercantile craftsmanship This piece features an additional inlaid compartment with raised edges and an internally separated lid. Exhibits moderate signs of wear consistent with age and use.
