1920s; W. D. & H. O. Wills - Bristol/London Framed antique cigarette advertising mirror. This piece features an illustrated depiction of Capstan "Navy Cut" Cigarettes against a mirrored backdrop. Navy Cut, or Navy Flake, is a type of Virginia tobacco with roots in colonial times. Sailors would twist and tightly tie tobacco leaves, often moistening them with rum, molasses, or spices to meld the flavors. To smoke it, they sliced pieces known as "twists" or "curlies." This compact, long-lasting, slow-burning tobacco became popular among sailors and outdoorsmen, eventually earning the name "Navy." Framed. Exhibits minor signs of wear including some scratches and scuffs on the glass, though it appears to be free from chips or cracks. 18" W x 22" H Please refer to photos regarding condition.
