Early 20th Century Briddell Cleaver

c. 1900s; Chas. D. Briddell, Inc. - Crisfield, MD Antique 6" cleaver manufactured by Briddell. In addition to cleavers and butcher knives, Briddell's other claim to fame were their crab and oyster harvesting tools for local watermen and boatmen on Chesapeake Bay. Briddell's reach has far exceeded just edge tool enthusiasts as pieces manufactured by the company in the 1940s can be found on display at the MoMA. Maker's mark stamped on head, opposite of finger guard near the handle. Exhibits minor signs of age appropriate wear. 11" L Please refer to photos regarding condition.
