Very early 1900s pharmacy mercantile cabinet for William R. Warner & Co., Philadelphia. Warner, considered a pioneer of the manufacture of sugar-coated pills, began business as a retail pharmacist in 1856 before moving on to drug manufacture in 30 years later and stayed in business on his own until being bought out by patent medicine firm Gustavus A. Pfeiffer & Company in 1908. This item represents one of the smaller styles of cabinets manufactured to display Warner & Co.'s medications. The cabinet includes the original key and working lock mechanism, and features slots of shelving, but shelves are not included. 23.5" W x 5" D x 46.5" H MM - 106559 - 080723 Please refer to photos regarding condition.
