The motor current will not vary over the speed range if the load is less than the current set point; the KBTC goes to maximum voltage.The KBTC-225 torque control is rated for a maximum output current of 8 amps (10 amps max with an auxiliary heat sink). The KBTC-225 model operates from 230 VAC, and powers up to a 1.5 HP, 180-volt motor (3.0 HP with an auxiliary heat sink).The KBTC connections are the same as a KBIC DC motor speed control.
