Description This railroad thermometer is an American-made fully enclosed magnetic thermometer that measures the rail surface temperature for rail adjustment. It has a large measuring range of -20 to over 160 degrees Fahrenheit and meets AREMA plan #34 latest revisions. Rail temperature must be accurately measured to enable optimal welding of rail/continuously welded rail (CWR), and the magnetic back on this rail thermometer allows you to mount the thermometer directly to the rail for a proper reading.
