Consumer Electronics Market 2023 PLUS Presentation

Approaching a Half-Trillion in Sales During July 2023, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) increased its forecast for total 2023 retail revenues for US technology by $3 billion to $488 billion. Inflationary pressures are likely to reduce consumer spending during the second half of 2023. CTA’s estimate of a 1% decrease in average wholesale prices during 2023 is reflected in a projected 5% decrease in LCD TVs, 2% decrease in laptops, 5% decrease in smart speakers, 4% decrease in smartwatches and 7% decrease in home game consoles. Tech sectors projected to have sales increases during 2023 include a 7% increase in OLED TV to a total of $3.4 billion and a substantial 50% increase in portable gaming consoles to $1.6 billion.
