Sabertooth
One of my favorite historic axe designs is the Lobo by Council Tools. Many have asked me to duplicate it but I've not for 2 reasons. 1st I try to always put my personal spin on a concept and 2nd I really struggled with the assymetry. It hurt my head. When someone asked me if I intended on producing a Craftsman Cedar Pattern axe I saw my chance to combine two concepts into a single design. With a blade length of 4 & 5/8 inches, and a weight of 2.5 lbs it maxes out scoring potential and if you're into having matched sets will look great alongside the Sabertooth Cub. With a very sfelt blade profile, even the hardest boards won't stop this axe The Sabertooth uses a modified Infinity Axes handle design. 1.5 inches instead of 1.25 inches wide. When working on the design, I felt the slightly larger handle matched the aesthetics better and would give more support to a heftier head. The handle is still held in place by a 1/4 inch roll pin, making replacing a broken handle a breeze. PLEA
