The Bat Axe
Over the course of this adventure, I've received multiple requests from folks for a "Bat Axe" After sharing the initial sketch, I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback and decided to rush this one into production asap. While this obviously is an homage to Bat Man, I was unable to find existing examples of art work or commercial product out there for inspiration, so I had to balance the aesthetics of the overall design with the desire to create a fun throwing axe. This double bit design features blades that are 4.5 inches from tip to tip, and a very manageable weight of 2.28 pounds. One of the most common questions I get about this design is the durability of the ears and tail. This is a very valid concern, and the best solution I can come up with is setting the handle in the eye in such a fashion as to sit slightly proud of the ears.
