The Bat Axe

Over the course of this adventure, I've received multiple requests from folks for a "Bat Axe"  After sharing the initial sketch, I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback and decided to rush this one into production asap.  While this obviously is an homage to Bat Man, I was unable to find existing examples of art work or commercial product out there for inspiration, so I had to balance the aesthetics of the overall design with the desire to create a fun throwing axe. This double bit design features blades that are 4.5 inches from tip to tip, and a very manageable weight of 2.28 pounds.  One of the most common questions I get about this design is the durability of the ears and tail.   This is a very valid concern, and the best solution I can come up with is setting the handle in the eye in such a fashion as to sit slightly proud of the ears.  The secondary scallop on the bottom of the wings extends far enough away from the handle to prevent accidental pokes or scratches for all but the
