He, in fact, became quite active between 1964 and 1966, making the music found here (his final record) three years before his death in 1969. One can easily hear the influence that James's sound had on the then flourishing folk revival movement, and though he's perhaps not in his prime on DEVIL GOT MY WOMAN, he still sings his country blues with great intensity.
