With their material originally released sometime during the mid-'80s, the folks at Slumberland Records have been generous enough to reissue the way-ahead-of-its-time discography from 14 Iced Bears. And with this single being treated as a sample of their destined-to-rule compilation of In the Beginning, both sides feature a punky, upbeat but sentimental take of guitar pop with Nick Drake-like vocals. And as ane can see where the likes of Boyracer got their inspiration from, while the B-side of "Balloon Song" has an added influence of Beat Happening. ~ Mike DaRonco
