It also allows the user to utilize existing and new INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS media converters, either in the rack or in a stand-alone installation.FlexibilityThe Media Converter Chassis supports up to 16 media converters, covering 100Base-TX, 100Base-FX and Gigabit 1000Base-T. In addition to that, both Multi-Mode and Single-Mode options are supported, as well as WDM (bi-directional wave-division multiplexing).ReliabilityThe Media Converter Chassis comes with an internal switching power supply, offering high-specification power to each converter unit. Each converter is supplied from a common shared power bus — but as an added precaution, each is individually protected in the event of a problem on the bus or from the power supply.
