Original British Napoleonic Very Large Six-Sided Powder Horn with Brass Pour Spout
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely & well-sized powder horn, measuring roughly 14 inches in length. This example is six-sided in design, making it a very unique example. The horn has a brass-mount spout, very advanced for the period. The spout appears to be missing the lever which would open it, but pressing against the tension piece opens it fine. There is no powder remaining in the flask. There is a very large crack in the horn that travels its length, with some other small breaks and cracks across the piece. The bottom piece of this example appears to be horn, which is very interesting as they’re usually wooden. The bottom is partially pushed outward but this is hardly noticeable. The horn retains one suspension ring and another small mount which likely served the same purpose. The powder horn is unadorned except for some simple carving of the spout, so we unfortunately are not able to tell which country it was used by, but from the design we believe it to be Br
