Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous Civil War Era powder flask featuring a decorative pattern on the exterior. The flask was made by Richard Groves & Sons of Sheffield, one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. Its establishment date was stated as 1770.  In the nineteenth century, the firm was certainly the most prolific saw manufacturer, with a reputation for quality.  The address was Beehive Works, Snow Lane and Allen Street. The flask measures approximately 7 1/2” long. The cap still screws on and off without issue, but the spring to hold the hole closed when not in use is broken, so there is no tension. There is no powder remaining in the flask. There is a crack at the side at the seam. This example dates to the Civil War period. A very beautiful flask that will fit well into any Civil War or 19th Century firearm collection!
