Original British WWI No. 5 Mk. 1 Training Cutaway Mills Bomb by Howard & Bullough Ltd. - Dated December 1915
Original Item: Only One Available. This is an very nice BATF approved totally inert example of a WWI No. 5 Mk. 1 Grenade, partly cutaway for training purposes. This is the first WWI Mills Cutaway we have offered, & still has the original innards for training purposes. Like all deactivated ordnance, this bomb is Not Available for Export. This example was fully cleaned and turned into a training aid, cut through from top to bottom, removing a small slice. The entire internal structure is still visible, including the shrapnel. The bottom cap is still intact and reads: No. 5 . 112/15. H&B. Ltd. This indicates manufacture in December 1915 by Howard & Bullough Ltd. of Accrington, Lancashire. The base caps were made by different manufacturers than the body, and the body is marked C/A for Callenders Abbots Foundry Co Ltd. of Glasgow, Scotland.
