Original British WWII Import Marked 3rd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife with Scabbard
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good example of a late "Third Pattern" British Fairbairn-Sykes commando dagger, with an alloy handle and original scabbard. As brass was a "strategic material," only the early examples of the third pattern have brass handles, with later war produced models having blacked alloy handles. The handle dates production to late 1944 - early 1945. The knives varied somewhat in size, and this example measures 11½", with a 6⅞ inch blade. This example comes with the standard belt scabbard with the tongue intact. The condition of the knife is good, still with relatively sharp edges, and a good amount of the original black finish on the blade. The plain blued steel cross guard is tight on the blade with no wobble and some minor surface oxidation and little to none of the original finish. It’s marked on the handle with Broad Arrow over 12. It is marked on the underside of the crossguard with the standard ENGLAND stamping which was done for exportatio
