
Original Canadian WWII 1st Medium Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery, 1st Canadian Army Group Battledress Uniform Jacket with Period-Applied Insignia
Original Item. Only One Available. The 1st Medium Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery was one of six Canadian medium artillery regiments that served in the European Theatre of World War II. Medium regiments were armed with 5.5-inch and 4.5-inch guns. The adjutant of the 1st Medium Regiment, RCA, was Captain Horace Trites; Trites was mentioned in dispatches in Italy. Trites and gun position officer (GPO) Lieutenant 'Buck' Buchanan later became pilots at 43 Operational Training Unit, RAF Andover, and fought in northwest Europe with No. 665 Squadron RCAF. This is a lovely battledress uniform worn by a Private in the 1st Medium Regiment, RCA. The uniform retains all buttons and has slip-on shoulder strap tabs reading 1 MED RCA for the 1st Medium Regiment, RCA. Below this on each shoulder is a CANADA tab, and below this is a flash for the 1st Canadian Army Group, with a red diamond with a blue stripe through it, topped with a red zig-zag.
