Original European Continental Flintlock Pistol Converted to Percussion - Circa 1800
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice "salty" example of a flintlock pistol from the European Continent, later converted to percussion. It almost certainly originally had markings on the barrel and/or lock, however due to wear and cleaning. all of the original markings have been removed. It was fully cleaned to put it in its best light for display. The pistol features a 5 ½ inch long round barrel, and measures 10 ½ inches in overall length, a bit too large for a pants pocket, but probably just the right side for a vest or coat. The lock plate still shows the mounting points for the pan, frizzen, and spring, so it was definitely originally made as a flintlock, then converted to percussion. It has a very nice bolster on the right side of the barrel, so it was definitely gunsmith altered, as this is definitely well above the "cone-in-barrel" type conversions often used by armorers. Condition is good, though it definitely has seen long service, and is missing some componen
