Original Imperial German WWI Fernglas 08 Binoculars by Rodenstock of München with Leather Case

Original Item: Only One Available. This 6x25 field glass is pre WWII manufactured and of superior quality to wartime examples. Small field glasses were highly preferred by German officers due to their convenience. This example still has clear optics and leather carry case. It is nicely marked as follows on the central adjustment: Rodenstock7367München The adjacent hinge is marked with B. Dienst- F.G. 08, the abbreviated type and model number, which roughly means "Service Binoculars 08". Rodenstock of Munich is a rare and desirable maker of these binoculars. Condition definitely shows wear, and the diopter adjustments are not currently functional. One of the bakelite eyecups was replaced at some point with a rubber example, which over time degraded, melting onto the binoculars and case. The included leather case is designed to strap to the waist belt and combat suspenders, and was made by SPINDLER & HOYER / ROTTINGEN. It still has the original Gebrauchsanweisung für das Fernglas 0
