Original U.S. American Revolutionary War Period Dragoon Saber with Iron Handle & Tin D-Guard - Sun, Moon, & Star Marked Blade

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an extraordinary example of an American Revolutionary War Dragoon saber with very lovely characteristics, including an iron handle and a tin D-Guard, which is very telling of the manufacture capabilities of the period. The blade is stamped with a sun, a crescent moon, and a group of seven stars, which were often seen symbols on Solingen-imported blades of the period. The 27½” blade is in amazing condition with evidence of past oxidation being cleaned away. The blade is stamped with an anthropomorphic sun, an anthropomorphic moon, and an organized seven stars, which are often associated with Solingen-imported blades of the period, something we have seen before on American Revolutionary War blades. The blade appears to be soldered to the tin guard. The Tin D-Guard is in rough condition, as any would be after so long due to the nature of tin.
