Made by women of the Lambani tribe, they carry their unique signature.  While traveling through the Sandur village in Karnataka one gets introduced to the community of Lambani women wearing bright collored and richly  embroidered traditional clothes, selling beautifully crafted pieces of art. The Lambani community traces its origin to the deserts of Rajasthan and Kutch and seem to have settled down in the Sandur region of Karnataka in the 18th-19th centuries. Today they live in small settlements and their craft is what connects them to their history.
