This Gathering features two companies affiliated with the Alaska Ocean Cluster, a non-profit organization that works with startups to advance technologies that benefit Alaska's marine industries, communities, and ecosystems. Blue Ocean Gear is a Silicon Valley-based start-up tackling the global problems of gear loss and ocean data collection with an immediately actionable and commercial solution: sensor-rich tracking buoys.  Blue Dot Kitchen is bringing zero-input, carbon sequestering, and the ocean restorative ingredient kelp to the people in irresistibly tasty organic foods.
