Fragment No.1

Fragment NO. 1, is the first of nine mixed media works cast from an original clay relief of a tree inspired by the works of one of my favorite artists, Piet Mondrian. Being the first casting, Fragment NO.1 is the one left mostly intact, a near duplicate copy of the original. The following 8 Fragments gradually continue to degrade in wholeness, a natural occurrence of the casting process, similar to the process of aging. The last few Fragments, are mere vestiges of the original piece, yet still hold a deep and  profound essence and beauty.
