Handmade in Japan. 17.5 x 5 cm / 6.9 x 2" Crossgrain Leather We named this leather ‘Crossgrain’ for the pattern embossed on the surface. These crossing lines help small scratches that appear with use to blend in more easily. Because of its strength and thickness steer leather is often used for items that need to be durable. This leather is vegetable tanned using tannins from the mimosa tree. Vegetable tanning takes more time but does not use the toxic compounds needed for chrome tanned leather.
