1955 Fender Deluxe 5D3 (Re-Tolexed) INSPECTED & RESTORED BY OUR AMP TECH This amp came to us in a large collection in very poor condition, missing its tolex completely. We set out on a 10 month journey to restore it to be not only vintage-beautiful, but also functional. The project is finally complete and another tweed has been saved - its ready for its new home! Tech Notes: This 1955 Fender tweed amp was restored in late April 2022 under Ish Guitars supervision to the best performance and safety possible. This amp when received on my workbench already had some work done on the chassis. The power cord replaced with a hospital grade type AC power cord and electrolytic capacitors had been replaced with high quality F&T brand capacitors.Where I began was to clean the ground switch and install an appropriate chassis ground capacitor. Four of the leaky signal coupling capacitors were replaced with 1950's types and six noisy off value carbon resistors with period equivalent resistors
