1965 Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass Beatle Bass Original

Replicated many times but never like the original, the Hofner 500/1 "Beatle Bass" is one of the most iconic basses on the planet.  This is your chance to get a clean original bass that has already been gone through - it had a neck reset (common to these basses) by our local Syracuse pro tech Bob McBlain, and is setup extremely well. After playing this bass, you will wonder why you ever bought a re-issue! The finish, pots, electronics, tuners... everything... its all original. The finish is somewhere between very good and excellent condition considering its age. This 500/1 has been well taken care of by a long term owner who knew instruments well. Serial number 405, 40th week of 1965. Extremely light 4lb 9oz! Comes with non-original Hofner reissue case.
