It will not grow well in high heat. It needs consistant, frequent watering. Celery that doesn't get enough water becomes tough and stringy.Start seeds indoors so the celery has adequate time to grow. Plant seeds 10-12 weeks before the last frost. To reduce germination time, soak the seeds in warm water overnight before planting. Press the seeds into the soil instead of burying them.Once the seeds have reached 2" tall, they can be transplanted to larger pots. When the outdoor soil temperature is above 50F, the plants can be transplanted in the garden.
