Your Aging Body and How to Care for It
We all age. This book provides a highly readable journey through the aging body that provides insight into why wrinkles occur, why blood pressure rises and why we are weaker and walk more slowly as we grow older. Yet we can do things to mitigate some of these aging changes. The book offers much practical advice on dealing with many issues involving our aging bodies. Sandwiched between introductory and concluding chapters that cover the overall phenomenon of aging are chapters that describe how specific parts of the body, such as skin, bones, muscles and joints, age. The author brings his background as Chairman of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Director of the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Michigan to provide accurate and up-to-date information about the aging body.
