
Beginner Knitted Sock Class
Hand knit socks are so warm and you have so many fun choices of color. In this class we will make a heavy weight boot sock using worsted weight yarn and double pointed needles. Once you've learned all the construction techniques of a basic sock you can switch to lighter weight yarns and smaller needles. This class will consist of 3 session. We'll be using a pattern from Knitting Pure and Simple which is included in the cost of the class. Prerequisite skills: knit, purl, increase, decreaseClass 1: Getting started.Class 2: Heel Flap & GussetClass 3: Finishing the ToeMaterials Needed: 250 yards worsted weight yarn (partly or totally wool recommended) US6 Double Point Needles (set of 5) plus 9" US circular needle (optional) Option: If you prefer to knit fingering weight socks, you will need about 400 yards of fingering weight yarn and 2.25mm needles. Class 1 for this class will be Friday, October 25, 2-4 pm. We will schedule subsequent classes during the first class.
