Please see image above There been many times when I train new techs that they keep asking "whats the flow rate for CTA, where should I put the smart prep?.. What's the timing for CT venous phase? for this and for that?". At that time I really hope they have something like this. Its a quick reference card with the flow rate, contrast dosage and timing for the most common scans. For example; If the doctor ordered CTA chest to r/o PE. Look at the card, you should set the flow rate to 4ml/sec. Load the injector syringe with 100ml contrast material. And when you scan, to set the ROI or Smart prep in the Pulmonary Artery. Another example; If the doctor ordered CT Abd & Pelvis w/ IV contrast. Look at the card, you should set the flow rate to 2ml/sec. Load the injector syringe with 100ml contrast material.
