Fire Watch Authorized Overview A fire watch plays an essential role in fire prevention during hot work (welding, cutting, grinding, spark producing) activities both in general industry and shipyard work. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires workers tasked with fire watch duties be trained. This training course provides an introduction to fire watches, fire watch duties and responsibilities, the fire triangle, classes of fires, best types of extinguishers to use for the common classes of fire, and how to use handheld fire extinguishers. This is suitable annual training when used in conjunction with hands-on training and site-specific familiarization.
