This very cool dive watch was made during the 1960's as the demand for reasonably priced dive watches increased in the United States. Lucerne is one of those Swiss brands that is no longer with us due to the great purge of the quartz revolution. Named after the Swiss town, this company was New York based company owned by German Americans and employed a number of European immigrants assembling watches and retailing this domestically. There were a number of these smaller companies that helped knit the fabric of the small watch producers to get wrist watches on every arm in America.The watch has all the design hallmarks of classic dive watches from the period.
