Martin D-28 Custom 1983/ 150th Anniversary Year
At first glance this guitar looks exactly like a standard D-28 so we checked it out spec for spec. For all intents and purposes after comparing the build specs of a standard D-28 to this guitar..... The "custom" aspect would be that it does not have a diamond volute where the neck meets the headstock. It also sports a slightly wider string spacing 2-1/4" and a slightly wider neck in the upper registers 2-1/4" at the 12th. But it retains the same size as a standard in the cowboy chord area, including a 1-3/4" nut and 1-11/16" wide neck at the 1st. She has bumps and dings as seen in the pictures, but is in overall very good to excellent condition. The largest of the cosmetic issues include a ding on the corner of the headstock, some light finish checking, and a scrape on the soundboard/ upper bout bass/ side near the binding. No major breaks repairs or mods to speak of. It is worth mentioning though that over the years the pick guard has shrunk slightly and there a very slight t
