Spiral Galaxy M83 (NIRCam image)

Webb's NIRCam instrument captures an infrared view of M83, piercing through the dust to record stars and details that would otherwise be obscured if relying on optical light. The image maps out the galaxy’s newborn stars in pink, older stars in blue, and dense clusters of young stars in light blue concentrated along the spiral arms. Compared to MIRI's infrared range, NIRCam sees shorter near-infrared wavelengths, creating this stunningly detailed starscape.
