The densely packed stars fields, of the irregular galaxy NGC 6822, are observed here using the near-infrared capabilities of Webb's NIRCam. Countless stars are revealed with incredible clarity, as the galaxy's pervasive dust and gas are dimmed to faint red wisps when viewed in near-infrared. Unveiling the bare stars for astronomical study with spectacular results. The brightest stars appear in pale blue, while the fainter stars in a warmer hue. A particularly prominent bright blue orb, located left of center, is a globular cluster packed with stars. Release Date: September 27, 2023
