The Shinto Counter Stool incorporates elements of the traditional Japanese Torii Gate, often seen at the entrances of Shinto shrines. The stool promotes moments of pause and encourages gathering around the dining table with loved ones. The hand-crafted frame is wrapped in a quarter inch thick leather. As the untreated leather seat ages, it will develop a natural patina instead of being treated with chemicals. Over time, the leather will mold to the wood frame, reminiscent of beloved vintage pieces.
