This listing is for the Rare Antique 1890 FA Cup Final Blackburn v. Sheffield Football Lithograph pictured above. About this work: An exceptionally rare and important early English football lithograph by William Overend. This lithograph is titled “The Foot-ball Association Cup Final: Blackburn Rovers V. Sheffield Wednesday” and depicts a still shot from the 1890 match in which the Blackburn Rovers defeated Sheffield Wednesday 6-1, the second widest winning margin in Cup final history. The lithograph is by William Heysham Overend (British, 1851-1898) and is hand signed by him in pencil in the lower left. There is also the ZAI Printsellers Association blindstamp in the lower left next to the signature. The work is a colored lithograph with additional hand-coloring detail. The work was published in April 1891 by the Fine Art Society Ltd, as indicated in the top right margin. This very rare print appears to be the only known example of its kind.
