This was shot for a car company on the theme of Americana. I know, there’s no car, but this was about America as a corollary aspect of the shoot. I try to direct as a little as possible: set up the action, let the kids have a good time, stay open and shoot what seems most true, most dramatic. A kid upside down in mid-air seemed perfect to me.
