An unusual lowboy raised on four cabriole legs ending in hoof feet. The shaped top is veneered in a mesmerizing pattern of kingwood strips. Kingwood was often utilized in strips, because it was difficult to obtain larger widths. The handles, which may be original, have engraved backplates. The form embodies influences from both the Dutch and English traditions. Circa 1740 Origin English or Dutch Stock# 13810 Width 33.5" Depth 22" Height 30"
