This handcrafted Tokoname-yaki teapot is made by Gyokko Kiln, led by second-generation artisan Gyokko Umehara. The kiln is known for its mastery of traditional craftsmanship, and both the second and third generations, including Yukitaka Umehara, are certified traditional craftsmen. The surface of the teapot is finished using the Tobi-Kanna technique, a method where fine patterns are carefully carved while the potter's wheel is spinning. This meticulous process results in a delicate texture that enhances the teapot’s aesthetic appeal. Designed to serve two to three cups, this teapot is ideal for enjoying tea with company. It features a Ceramesh filter, a finely crafted ceramic tea strainer that allows for smooth pouring and excellent tea extraction.
