Silk Scarf II: Lens Condensation
I love pondering the world of the Seagull. In grad school I wrote about Seagulls as an omnipotent force working to promote hegemony at the Jersey Shore, all seeing, all devouring, ever present, and ready to catch you being naughty. An elaborate hivemind, a million strong flock of winged, feathered, squawking beach patrol. I have since taken a more sympathetic view towards them. Still ever present, but also mortal, and trying to survive just like the rest of us. Creative in their pursuits. This scarf depicts the vista from an avid birders' Swarovski lens, at the moment of avian triumph! The seagull erupts from the surf, rainbow trout in talon, splashing water droplets onto the glass of the camera's eye, before soaring away to devour its prize in rare form; solitude. The water droplets on the camera lens form a halo of dolphins circling the image, with our brand name scribbled between. I love this image, and feel so proud of this product.
