Funk Ensemble, Clif Swiggett, Monday, 5:45-7:15pm

This combo will meet weekly on Mondays running June 23rd - August 25th  with performances on August 29th. Veteran trombonist and esteemed jazz educator, Clif Swiggett enthusiastically leads the Funk ensemble which works on the music of funk legends such as Tower of Power, James Brown, and The Meters, as well as modern artists like Vulfpeck and Snarky Puppy. Enrollment is open to level 2 or higher or by audition. Emphasis is on tightness of rhythm, cohesive feel, dynamics, and overall groove in the rhythm section. Music will be selected by the instructor with input from students. Homework: Homework is comprised of playing assignments based on the combo music and individual needs. Student Requirements: Punctual attendance and desire to learn and improve. Students supply their instruments.
